アルゼンチンは年に二度、農村の暮らしを祝います。三月にはメンドーサがぶどう収穫の女王を選び、行列と千人の踊り手と花火でたたえ、十一月にはおよそ二千人のガウチョがサン・アントニオ・デ・アレコを馬で行く「伝統の祭り」が開かれます。

この地図に載るアルゼンチンの二つの祭りは、どちらも農村の暮らしから生まれました。メンドーサの全国ぶどう収穫祭（フィエスタ・ナシオナル・デ・ラ・ベンディミア）は1936年から続き、ぶどうの収穫と州のぶどう栽培者の仕事を祝います。サン・アントニオ・デ・アレコの伝統の祭り（フィエスタ・デ・ラ・トラディシオン）は1939年に住民たちが初めて開いたもので、国内でもっとも古いクリオージョの祝いとされ、11月10日の「伝統の日」のころにガウチョと農村の習わしをたたえます。
On the weekend nearest 10 November, Argentina’s Day of Tradition, San Antonio de Areco — the national capital of tradition — honours the gaucho with campfire music, ring races and roping contests, and a parade of some 2,000 riders and 60 herds of horses through the town.

Every March Mendoza celebrates the grape harvest with a night parade of illuminated floats from which the harvest queens throw fruit to the crowd, a morning procession of ox carts and gauchos, and a spectacle of more than a thousand dancers in an open-air theatre that ends with the crowning of the national queen.
