この地図に載るドイツの三つの祭りは、三つの季節にあたります。オクトーバーフェストは1810年のミュンヘンでの王家の婚礼に始まり、いまは9月半ばから10月の第一日曜までひらかれます。クリストキンドレスマルクトは、待降節第一日曜の前の金曜からクリスマス・イブまで、ニュルンベルクの中央広場をうめます。ケルンの謝肉祭の季節は11月11日11時11分に始まり、待降節とクリスマスのあいだ休んで、灰の水曜日の前の数日にまた街へ戻ります。
ライン地方の謝肉祭は、アーヘン、ボン、ケルン、デュッセルドルフなどの土地ごとのかたちも含めて、ユネスコ条約にもとづくドイツ全国の無形文化遺産目録に記載されています。
