モンゴルの祭りは草原の技をたたえます。七月のナーダムでは相撲、競馬、弓射が競われ、十月にはアルタイのカザフの鷲使いたちが腕を見せます。

ナーダムの三つの競技、相撲・競馬・弓射は、13世紀の『モンゴル秘史』に記されています。国内でもっとも多くの人が見守る祭りであり、ユネスコは2010年に代表一覧表へ記載しました。ウランバートルの国のナーダムは7月11日から13日まで、地方のナーダムは七月と八月に各地で続きます。
西の端では、バヤン・ウルギーのカザフの人びとがイヌワシを使う狩りの伝えを守っており、九月と十月の鷲祭りでその技が披露されます。
