ノルウェーは憲法の日を兵士ではなく子どもたちとともに祝います。5月17日には、旗と楽隊をともなう学校の行進がどの町もうめます。そして遠い北では、サーミの村カウトケイノが復活祭にトナカイの競走とヨイクの歌のために集まります。

この地図に載る二つの祭りは、この国の両端から来ています。憲法記念日「シッテンデ・マイ」は、1814年5月17日にエイツヴォルでノルウェー憲法が署名されたことを記念する日で、全国の都市や村で祝われます。サーミ復活祭フェスティバルは毎年の復活祭に、フィンマルク県のグォヴダゲアイドヌ（カウトケイノ）で開かれます。ここはサーミ語とサーミの文化が日々の暮らしの一部である共同体で、ノルウェーで面積のもっとも広い自治体でもあります。

At Easter the Sámi village of Kautokeino in Finnmark fills with reindeer races, duodji handicraft markets, theatre and concerts, crowned by the Sámi Grand Prix of joik and song — continuing the old tradition of gathering before the reindeer move to the coast.
