Senjed is one of the seven items on the Haft-sin, the Nowruz table whose seven things each begin with the Persian letter sin. On that table it reflects love.
It keeps company with sabze, samanu, serke, sib, sir and somāq. The table may also hold a mirror, candles, painted eggs, a bowl of water, goldfish, coins, hyacinth and traditional confectioneries.
