كثير من أعياد إيطاليا الكبرى تخصّ مدينة واحدة وتنظّمها أقدم جماعاتها: الأحياء السبعة عشر في سيينا، وحمّالو القديسة روزا في فيتربو، وأهل البندقية. وهي تجمع الأعياد الدينية بالاعتزاز المدني، وقد انقطع بعضها ومُنع ثم أُحيي على مدى القرون.
وماكينا سانتا روزا واحدة من أربعة مواكب إيطالية لبنى عظيمة تُحمل على الأكتاف — مع نولا وبالمي وساساري — أُدرجت مجتمعة على القائمة التمثيلية لليونسكو.
