Perayaan tradisional Korea mengikuti kalender candra-surya yang dihitung menurut waktu Korea dan diterbitkan setiap tahun oleh Institut Astronomi dan Ilmu Keangkasaan Korea. Karena Korea satu jam lebih awal daripada Tiongkok, sebuah perayaan kadang jatuh sehari setelah padanannya di Tiongkok: pada 2027, Seollal jatuh pada 7 Februari, sehari setelah Tahun Baru Tionghoa.

Dua perayaan dalam atlas ini tercatat pada Daftar Representatif Warisan Budaya Takbenda Manusia UNESCO: Festival Danoje Gangneung dan Yeondeunghoe, perayaan penyalaan lampion.
