Die überlieferten Feste Koreas folgen dem lunisolaren Kalender, der in koreanischer Zeit gerechnet und jedes Jahr vom Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute veröffentlicht wird. Weil Korea China eine Stunde voraus ist, fällt ein Fest gelegentlich einen Tag später als sein chinesisches Gegenstück: 2027 ist Seollal am 7. Februar, einen Tag nach dem chinesischen Neujahr.
Zwei der Feste dieses Atlas stehen auf der Repräsentativen Liste des immateriellen Kulturerbes der Menschheit der Unesco: das Danoje-Fest von Gangneung und das Yeondeunghoe, das Fest des Laternenanzündens.
