Banyak perayaan terbesar di negeri ini menghormati Santo Niño, arca Yesus sebagai anak yang dibawa ke Cebu pada 1521, dan menyatukan kesalehan Katolik dengan tarian jalanan, gendang serta pakaian yang rumit. Sinulog di Cebu dan Ati-Atihan di Kalibo sama-sama jatuh pada hari Minggu ketiga bulan Januari.
Perayaan lain merayakan panen atau semangat sebuah kota: Pahiyas di Lucban menghias rumah-rumah dengan hasil bumi pada pesta Santo Isidorus Petani, pelindung para petani, dan MassKara di Bacolod diciptakan pada 1980 untuk mengangkat kembali semangat kota pada masa yang sulit.
