本档案第一卷是伊朗。此处记录的是鲜活的文化实践——仍由守护者延续的习俗，而非历史重建——每个条目都在其来源经查证后才逐一加入。
其中大多由历法而非地点决定。伊朗的公共生活遵循伊朗太阳历，其岁首始于春分，此处多数条目落在该历中的固定某日。另有一些遵循伊斯兰历，因此每年在公历中提前约十一天。还有一个记录为一个季节而非某一天，因为其时令由收获决定。正因如此，本档案存储的是历法规则并由此推算日期，也正因如此，它显示的每个日期都会说明其可信程度。
建议分两步阅读本页：「此地即将到来」回答何时，「条目」回答何事。每个条目载明会发生什么、对守护者而言为何重要、对访客有何期待，以及其撰写所依据的材料。
关于这些条目中的礼仪，有一点需要说明：其中许多并非该节庆的习俗，而是在伊朗公共场合普遍适用的法律——着装、拍摄、酒类——凡属此类，条目均会注明。凡本档案不知道对访客有何期待之处，均记为「未知」，而非留白。
这并非伊朗全部习俗的普查。这是迄今已查证来源并经审校的内容，而且它有意短于事实的全貌。
